A Girl and her shoes...when does the unbreakable bond begin?

I don't know about you, but my bond with shoes started at a very early age. I would walk around (more like drag my feet) in my moms black patent leather heels with this adorable patent leather pom pom on the top of the toe box. I loved them! I would dig into the closet and pull them out and play around in them every chance I got. Something about trying to walk in them made me feel elegant, fun, and girly (considering I was such a tomboy) Who would think that I would now be a footwear designer.

I was probably around the age of 3 when I first put my feet in her shoes and pretended I was a classy grown up with extravagant places to go.

But what is it about a heel that we makes us feel so giddy? so bubbly, so happy? We only have 2 feet but yet we buy tons of shoes. We make excuses as to why we need to buy more, don't we? I know I do. Don't we say things like "I know I have 4 pairs of blue pumps, but I don't have this shade , don't we? I mean let's be honest... it wouldn't take much convincing to purchase another pair.

I know we all have the same kind of stables.

We like a great summer sandal with fun pops of color that we can wear with all white or an equally fun color. I am absolutely drawn by bright colors, but there should be neutral in there somewhere to break it up, gives it more versatility.

We love the animal print don't we? It's like a wild escape, a true "hear me roar" statement. We all have our desired fabric and color saturation of this delectable animal print, but I bet if I were to look into your shoe closet I would find a leopard or cheetah print in there somewhere.

Don't get us started on a great sparkle. We get mesmerized by it, we want to prance and dance around and just stare at it in the light. We simply cannot help it. It's the instant "go-to" when the Holidays roll around, and when we want the conversation to be about our shoes.
Our "lady-like" shoe can mean different things to different shoe lovers, but for me it's this adorable dusty, muted pink platform, ankle strap heel. They look crazy dangerous and uncomfortable but they aren't. I have worn these to a wedding reception and danced all night in them. I truly felt dainty.
Ohhh and the snake print. We just adore pretty much any snake from the reptile family, but it's a much needed added punch. We may not have multiples of it, but we definitely need it in our shoe arsenal.

So when did your bond with shoes begin? What shoe can you peg it back to that formed and sealed your bond? Dare I ask how many shoes do you own?
Trust me, your secret is safe with me, I would never break the shoe code.
